We cater for the Young and fit, for Old and fit, and Old and not so fit, and for All Body types i.e. flexible and inflexible, slim & overweight, people with back problems & other physical ailments. Pregnancy classes to suit pregnant women. Yoga is for EVERY BODY and there is always something one can do.
Vi Faure-Brac has been practicing Yoga for over 40 years and has been teaching since 1977. In 1978 she gained her yoga teaching diploma through the International Yoga Teacher’s Association Training Course and has a diploma of remedial yoga gained from Yoga For Health Foundation. In the early eighties she became interested in the safety concepts of the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais technique which she still carries into her teaching. She continues to attend yoga and health based workshops and seminars to keep her teaching and classes fresh, up to date and interesting.
Vi took over the Nirvana School of Yoga from Roma Blair in Eastwood in 1982. In 1984 a new beautiful studio was established in the garden of Vi’s home which is used only for yoga. The studio is air conditioned, quiet, serene and equipped with mats and blankets etc. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Hatha yoga with all the safety precautions of the above mentioned modalities are incorporated in the classes. As Vi has practiced Iyengar Yoga, Dru Yoga, Desikachars Yoga, Yoga Synergy & other interpretations of yoga over the years, the best of these techniques filter into her classes. The classes are varied, interesting and can also be challenging in many ways. Each session begins with a short relaxation to reintegrate body/mind/spirit from the fragmentation of busy lifestyles and ends with relaxation & reflective thoughts.
Other teachers teaching at Nirvana have usually trained with Vi for at least 3 to 5 years and have diplomas from the International Yoga Teachers Association
